OVERVIEW

Welcome to Olive Cottage, a serene retreat, near the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve. This cosy hideaway offers breathtaking ocean views, merging your bedroom and lounge, with stunning folder stacker doors, that fold right open, so nature and the aroma of the sea air can flow in.

At Olive Cottage you even have sea views from every corner, even the shower, which is a stunning hardwood, and piping hot water.

The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a hearty meal, or eat out at one of our local restaurants, a short walk away,

The cottage also has a stunning hardwood deck, shaded with lattice, where you can enjoy your morning breakfast, with breathtaking sea views. The deck has a built-in braai where you can cook on the coals while enjoying a good glass of wine, or craft beer, and watching a breathtaking sunset, plus you get to enjoy the night skies, even catch a falling star, and take on the ocean’s soothing sounds.

The cottage is all built with boutique wooden carpentry, with the feel of a Canadian log cabin, and breathtaking, endless sea views. The Olive Cottage is private, and surrounded by a small olive grove.

Fall asleep at night, in a super comfy bed, we only use organic cotton linen, and an extra mohair blanket to keep you snug. The sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep.Olive Cottage is perfect for couples, that special occasion, anniversary, or just a weekend for some quality couple time, or surprise your loved one, with a few days away to share quality time. If you are single and need a few days to set sail and just breath and relax then Olive Cottage is your destination.

The cottage is within walking distance to the beach, for an early morning stroll, or breathtaking mountain hikes on our doorstep. We are a few minutes walk to the local early morning coffee shops, to pick up a coffee of your choice and freshly baked pastry, hot out the oven.

There is safe off-street parking, with camera surveillance, so your car is safe. If you arrive before 3 pm, we gladly carry your luggage to your cottage, we love spoiling our guests.

Olive Cottage is a cosy self-catering log cabin, with a private entrance, located on the owner’s property in Scarborough, Cape Town. It is ideal for guests who are looking for a peaceful getaway to this coastal village in the Cape Peninsula.This open-plan cabin can accommodate up to 2 guests and is furnished with a queen-size bed and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, washbasin and toilet. Linen and bath towels are provided, however guests are required to bring their own swimming towels.The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, 2-plate gas stove, microwave, cutlery and crockery and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The living area features comfortable couches and a dining table. Access to Wi-Fi is available.Guests can enjoy a spacious balcony with a braai, a dining table and unspoiled views of the surroundings. Secure parking is available on the premises. Local amenities such as shops and restaurants are within close proximity, with the Scarborough Beach being approximately 600 m away.

Over four decades she has built a career and a personal legacy rooted entirely in hands-on environmental and marine conservation education, community activism, and wildlife protection.

House rules and important info

Please follow our directions as your GPS will get you lost, plus often there is limited cell reception depending on your network provider so we have created this direction page to get you to our lodge very easily.

We suggest you set your Google maps or whichever app you use, to the Camel Rock Restaurant, Main Road Scarborough, once you get there, follow these instructions.

Get to Camel Rock restaurant, turn left into Pincushion Way at the signboard that says Camel Rock Restaurant. This is up towards the mountain.

At about the third house behind the Camel Rock Restaurant you will see a reflective mirror and a guest house called Tubular swells. This is not where you are checking in… you must turn left at the reflective mirror. It has a road sign there that says Mountain Rise.

It is a small sand road, it is very safe do not stress, your car will come to no harm. DO NOT GO UP THE CONCRETE STRIP on your right!

Once you have turned left at the reflective mirror and into Mountain Rise (the small sand road) park anywhere under the trees opposite number 80 on the gate and a sign saying, Scarborough Nature Lodge.

You are at your destination and from here, we will check you in.
